April is coming to a close, and that means it’s time for a Life Lately update! This month has been a whirlwind. I know I say that every month, but it really has been this month. We sold our house, moved into my husband’s parents house, helped his parents also pack up and sent them off to their new second home in Utah, went house hunting several times a week, in addition to all of our regular weekly commitments. And we have some exciting news – we had an offer accepted on a house! Scroll down to get some more info 🙂
What I’m Reading:
I’ve officially given up on Dune. I know it’s supposedly one of the best Science Fiction works that’s ever existed, but for some reason I just can’t get into it. Which is weird because I’m not usually too picky and can get into basically any book I start. I think Dune and Gulliver’s Travels are the only two books that I’ve never finished. Ah well. C’est la vie! Up next I’m going to try This Side of Paradise, which is by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I love The Great Gatsby, and this book is supposed to be another excellent window into that time period. I’ll let you know how it goes!
What I’m Binge-Watching:
Nate and I are still continuing our re-watch of The Office. Love me some Jim and Pam (aka PB&J). We recently finished season 1 of Frequency on Netflix, which was really intriguing. Also the new season of Doctor Who just started up on TV, so we catch the new episode each weekend! Doctor Who is life. <3
What I’m Creating:
I’m gearing up to work on May’s Monthly DIY Challenge, which is a partnership with Fat Paint Co. and I’m super excited to try my hand with their cool products! As far as what I’ve already created recently, I made a modern and stylish jewelry holder for April’s Monthly DIY Challenge and a cute Mr. & Mrs. wood slice for the Silhouette’s Creator’s Challenge.
What I’m Needing:
Motivation! I started a workout regiment last week and I really want to stick to it this time. We all know how hard it is to stick to a workout schedule, right? I’m doing the daily workouts on Tone It Up in addition to 30 minutes of elliptical time and a walk with my dog, Pippa. I really need to stay motivated if I’m going to live a healthier life!
What I’m Listening To:
I’m still pretty obsessed with HAMILTON, tbh. I mean you’ve gotta listen to it a lot if you want to learn all the rap lyrics! If you haven’t listened to the Broadway production soundtrack of Hamilton, drop everything you are doing and listen to it right now. Other than that, haven’t really been listening to music too much, except for whatever’s on the radio in the car!
What I’m Dreaming About/Excited For:
YOU GUYS. WE FOUND A HOUSE! We had an offer accepted on a house on April 17th. It’s in the perfect area for Nate to get to work, it has a TON of space (hello new blog projects!), it’s new, so nothing is breaking down, it’s across the street from an elementary school/park, it’s in the same neighborhood as an awesome couple from our church, and it’s really cute! So excited to move in and make it our own 🙂 Here’s a picture of the outside!
What I’m Worried About:
Even though we have found a house, I’m still trying hard to not worry about things and just have faith that everything will work out! There’s a lot left still to be done and I just need to focus on just taking things one day at a time and trying to not be overwhelmed. I’ve realized that worrying really won’t get you anywhere and it doesn’t help anything so I’m working hard to worry less and trust more.
What I’m Learning:
I’m starting to learn about the program AutoCAD. I want to start doing some proper interior design work and knowing how to use AutoCAD is crucial! So I installed the program and found some good videos that should teach me how to use it. I’m looking forward to learning a new tool!
What I’m Loving:
My husband and my pets. I know that’s cliche, and I know they show up in this section of Life Lately a lot, but it’s totally true. Our world has been tipped upside down with all of this moving and stuff, but Nate has been such a constant for me. He’s been so loving and thoughtful and just there for me, you know? And of course Pippa, Mumford, and Oliver have been there for plenty of cuddles and silly pet antics! Our little family is pretty awesome 🙂 <3
What’s been going on in your life lately?
Yay house!!! So excited for you guys that the search is over! It’s so cute. New feels good doesn’t it (angels sing for normality). Can’t wait to see more pictures. I hope the process goes smoothly from here on out.
It totally feels good to have the search be over! The real estate market is dumb. Hah. Can’t wait to show you more! Prayers for your own home transition! <3
