Well, November has come and gone, and it passed with lots of craziness (aka surgery while pregnant and subsequent recovery). I was going to post my first post in my IVF series this month, but the aforementioned surgery made that impossible to get done. So stay tuned in DECEMBER for our first IVF post. However, I couldn’t let this month end without doing a November Bumpdate!
Yep, it’s another crappy quality cellphone picture using the timer. One of these days (when you know, I’m not recovering from one thing or another) I’ll actually pull out my proper camera and take nicer photos. Same goes for the PJs and bedhead. This is just what my life looks right now, folks. I’m keeping it real 😀 Also, WHOA BUMP. AmIright??
Due Date:Â March 23rd, 2018 <3
How Far Along:Â 24 weeks tomorrow!
How I’m Feeling: I’m on the mend! If you read our gender reveal post, you’ll know that I ended up having to have surgery at 21 weeks pregnant for a gallbladder removal. Since then I’ve just been resting and trying to heal from that. Luckily the pain is gone, but I’m still a little tender and I’ve got 4 nice incisions that are still healing up. And fortunately I can now eat anything I want and I’m actually hungry! After months of morning sickness and then being afraid to eat for fear of setting off a gallbladder attack, it feels SO GOOD to actually be able to eat. Yasss.
Cravings:Â Now that I can eat I just want to eat ALL THE THINGS. Nothing I’m craving in particular, but it makes me so happy to be able to eat things like ice cream, cheese, and Chick-Fil-A again. Also, like a stereotypical pregnant woman, I really love pickles. But let’s be real, I’ve always loved pickles, I’m just eating more of them now.
Aversions:Â NOTHING. PRAISE THE LORD AND HALLELUJAH.
Weight Gain:Â My first checkup since my surgery will be next week, so I have no idea of what my weight is right now. But now that I’ve actually been eating I’m sure it’s been going up a bit! My husband says I look the same except for a bigger belly, so at least baby girl seems to be growing!
Gender:Â We posted a gender reveal a week or so ago, but in case you missed it WE ARE HAVING A GIRL!! I had a sort of gut feeling she would be a girl, so it was cool to see my instincts were right. I made them double check just to be sure since I know that boys can sometimes look like girls if they are being sneaky, but we had 2 different techs check at 2 different appts. a week apart and they both said girl!
I made this banner for one of my bestie’s baby showers that we hosted at my house, but just decided to leave it up since I’m #preggo too haha 😀
How Big Is Baby:Â According to my 2 baby apps baby girl is about 11.8 inches, 1.3 pounds, and is the size of a cantaloupe or an ear of corn. Which is strange because I feel like corn and and cantaloupe are vastly different sizes. It’s crazy to think that she’s almost a foot long though!
Started Showing Yet?: Yep! Finallyyy. Haha. I feel like I’m popping more and more practically each day. But then I feel like it fluctuates a fair amount still as she shifts into different positions – I look bigger some days and smaller others. I finally ordered a couple of maternity shirts and sweaters for Cyber Monday as I’m running out of tops that fit and have resorted to wearing hubby’s t-shirts 😉
Baby’s Movement: I’ve been feeling (and seeing!) some really big movements lately! It’s so cool to see my belly roll with her little jabs and movements. Some days she wiggles and dances all day long, and other days she’s more quiet, but I figure that’s because she goes into positions where her feet are kicking towards my back and not out. Nate has been feeling her and finally felt one of the big rolls I keep telling him about, which is pretty cool. She’s still most active when I’m waking up and then anytime I play music. Food, juice, sugar, and other tricks don’t really work but music is almost guaranteed to get some moves out of her everytime! Perhaps she’ll be a dancer 🙂
Fave Baby Purchase So Far:Â I have now opened the floodgates and I’ve allowed myself to buy baby things here and there! It’s so exciting! I went to a consignment sale earlier this month with some friends and got some books and toys and then I also might have picked up some adorable clothes here and there over the past couple weeks. I also finally finished putting together our registries and I’m so excited about all the cute stuff I put on there!
What I’m Excited For: I’m just getting more and more excited to meet her in March. Now that I’m feeling her more and I’m getting bigger, it’s finally feeling more real. And we are excited to pick baby girl’s name! We went on a date to Starbucks last week and started going through some options and have narrowed it down to our top 10! It’ll be so great when we can finally call this little love by something other than ‘baby girl’ <3
What I’m Nervous About: Well, y’all know me, I’m always paranoid about something bad happening. I’m trying really hard to trust God and just have faith that things will be okay, but sometimes it’s hard. I also have my gestational diabetes screening next week, and while I’m not exactly “nervous” for it per say, I definitely hope that I don’t have it because I really don’t want to deal with any more food or eating issues this pregnancy. Hah.
Lolz, you can see the bandaids covering my belly button incision through my shirt. Awesome haha
Awww, Erica!!! You are such an adorable little preggo! Your bump is just darling! I’m so glad you are recovering well from your surgery and that you aren’t in pain any longer. I looooved Chick-fil-A when I was pregnant with Landon. Makes sense that he loves it now too! 🙂 I can’t wait to hear what you guys decide on for her name! I know it’s going to be beautiful! Fingers crossed for a good result on your screening next week. I’ll send up some prayers for ya!
Aw, thanks Sarah! I’m definitely so happy to finally be getting back to “normal” and able to eat whatever I want! I definitely missed Chick-fil-A for the longest time haha. Picking a name is sooooo hard, but I feel like we are getting close! Can’t wait to share it 🙂 And thank you! No diabetes would be really awesome haha
