I don’t know about you, but I just LOVE Β a good furniture makeover or home decor upcycle. As a relatively new homeowner with a limited budget, it can be so fun (and a wise money-saving tactic) to give pieces you find on Craigslist or ones you already have a makeover to keep it fresh! Definitely more cost-effective than buying new plus you can customize it to fit into your design style seamlessly!
I have a bunch of fantastic friends and bloggers that I work with through the Wayfair Homemakers program and wow! do they have some amazing furniture makeovers and repurposed home decor items! I decided to round up some of my favorites from these lovely ladies to show you just how great upcycled pieces can look. Let’s get started, shall we? π

This mint and gold beauty from The Sweetest DigsΒ is seriously one of the most gorgeous pieces I’ve ever seen! Mint is one of my color crushes and I definitely wish I could take this piece home with me!
These upcycled pallet wood arrows from Being Spiffy are the perfect pop for some visual interest in your home decor! Customize yours with your favorite scrapbook paper for a unique look.
Wife in Progress took her boring builder-grade closet doors andΒ gave them a fabulous custom look! Take a leaf out of her book and take your own closet doors from drab to fab!
Table & Hearth took out a worn out entry table and gave it a beautiful modern makeover by covering the top with metal sheeting! Completely brilliant and completely stylish!
If you have old wood flooring that you’ve taken out but don’t have the heart to get rid of it, consider upcycling it into a beautiful sign like My Creative Days! Keep the history of your house alive by using the original materials to make something new!
If the shabby chic French look calls your name, check out this beautiful tray table makeover from Brooklyn Berry Designs! I just adore the classy look and the fun French stenciling!
Ikea is always a good place to get budget-friendly furniture that you can make your own. Little Red Brick House did just that by turning this Ikea Rast Dresser into a two-toned beauty! Swoon!
I’m pretty sure I need this gorgeous hutch from Christina Williams in my life stat! The distressed gray wood, the gold hexagon knobs and the fun colored dishware just call to my soul!
This headboard upcycle from Jesse Coulter is just too fun! The color is perfect and I love how she took something that had one use and turned it into something totally different! It’s perfect in it’s new life as a blanket rack.
Dwelling in Happiness took an old dresser and gave it new life as an entryway table with some chalk paint and stain! I just love how classy this looks and her styling is impeccable!

What do you do when you have an old lampshade? You turn it into a sunburst mirror, of course! Check out how Mabey She Made It took a lampshade from South Africa and totally repurposed it!
Plant stands don’t have to be plain! Simply Designing revamped hers by adding a poppy aqua color and fun herringbone detail to the feet. The perfect happy place for any plant!
Every patio needs some cheery decor for the warm summer months! I’d love to dine alfresco at this pretty patio set that The Craft Patch made over! Such a big difference from the ‘before’!
