Pick Your Pumpkin Challenge – Pumpkin Banner

pumpkin decor

Hey there and happy Wednesday! I’m excited to announce that my bloggy friends and I are back with another awesome challenge! Remember our awesome Great Crate Challenge? Since it’s fall (the best season on the planet) we decided to take plain Michael’s craft pumpkins and each put our own twist on them for 11 totally unique and DIYable autumn decor ideas! Check out the link up at the bottom to see all the other great projects! I decided to make some fun fall decor that is perfect for the front porch or a side or console table. Check out my process below!

Pumpkin Project Materials

Take note – all of the materials I used here I got from Michael’s! They were having an AWESOME sale where everything was between 30-60% off, even the fall stuff! So. Amazing. I got all the materials for this project, my fall wreath, my table decor, and my fall mantel all for under $75! What. A. Steal. Thanks, Michael’s!

I found these awesome cork letters at Michael’s for around $0.89 each I believe. I love the rustic and natural texture of cork! I attached these letters to some thin twine using some adorable black mini clothespins that were sold in a pack of 60 for $3.99. When I was done it spelled out a nice greeting:

Step 2

I tied the ends of the twine of my ‘hello’ banner around a wooden dowel that I had cut in two. To make it pretty I made some pretty bows out of leftover ribbon from my fall wreath to go over top of the twine! I then set aside the banner for later!

Step 3

I had these lovely amazing and awesome sparkly letters leftover from another project and knew that they would be perfect for my pumpkins! They are stick-on letters that are made of sturdy tag board. I peeled off the sticky back but then also added some hot glue to the back of each letter for some extra holding power!

Step 4

I lined the pumpkins up in order and then hot glued my ‘hello’ banner to the backs of the ‘f’ and end ‘l’ pumpkins so that it hangs nicely above my wittle pumpkins in a row!

Et voilà! My finished pumpkin decor using Michael’s craft pumpkins!

I think it turned out quite well and only took me about 20 minutes to put together. This would be great on a front porch to greet all of your friends and family that come to visit! I liked it outside, but I found an even better spot for it on my chalkboard desk!

I threw in the rest of the berry sprays from my fall wreath and put them in my little ceramic owl vase for a cute fall vignette! This table is visible as soon as you come in the front door and I think it’s a great little landing spot for this festive greeting.
