Fall Table Decor

Friends! It’s Friday! And Friday means it’s the weekend. We made it! Hubs and I are going to head out later today with some friends and spend the weekend in Chelan. It’s about a 4 hour drive from our house, but it’s totally worth it. Chelan is a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL place over in Eastern Washington that boasts stunning views and a picturesque lake. We will spend the weekend shopping, sipping wine in one of the several dozen wineries in the area and generally just enjoying ourselves. Ah! Vacation! Though it’s supposed to be 80 degrees… and I’m just now settling into the lovely fall weather at home. I can’t take this weather whiplash!

Today I’m bringing you my fall table decor setup. As I mentioned in my fall mantel post from a couple days ago, I’ve never really had a home to decorate for holidays before, so this year I’m going all out! Our house doesn’t have a formal dining room, so our kitchen table serves as both a casual space and a formal space when we have people over, so I knew that the fall table decor had to be fancy enough to make a statement but low-key enough that I could leave it out all season long. Let’s explore, shall we?

I started with a base of canvas that I’ve had around for ages and used for various projects. I cut off a strip and frayed the edges by pulling some of the weave out for a rustic look. After that I added some leftover burlap chevron fabric from my lamp makeover! The burlap and the gold just scream fall to me πŸ™‚

I had some Pier 1 gift cards from birthdays and Christmas that I had been saving so I went on a mini shopping spree for fall decor! I found this gorgeous gold beaded place mat that I used as the next layer in my base. You know me, I LOVE glitzy gold! While there, I also found this awesome glass vase with a built-in candle holder in the middle. I added a mixture of tiny sparkly pumpkins, and nuts and mini pinecones for an extra fall-y touch. Thanks Pier 1!

At either end of the table I layered some faux fall leaves (including some shimmery ones!) That I got in packs from Michael’s for 1.99 each. Great deal! I also added two mini candles that I made myself. You know that annoying leftover wax that doesn’t quite get used when you reach the end of a candle? I melt that down and then pour it into new molds with new wicks so I can have more of those delicious Bath and Body Works designer smells wafting through my home. Mmmm. It’s super easy, too! πŸ™‚

I also already had these two adorable salt and pepper shakers that one of my besties, Nichole, gave me as a present a while back. I use them year-round but thought they totally fit the theme of my fall table decor, so naturally they have a place at the table πŸ™‚

I’m really quite in love with how it turned out and how easy it was to put together – it only took me a a few minutes! It’s simple but makes a statement. I’ve gotten a lot of good feedback on it from my friends, so it will definitely be coming back out next fall. Surprisingly my cats haven’t destroyed it yet either, which is remarkable. Fingers crossed it lasts the season!

What does your fall table decor look like? Do you have a separate kitchen table and dining table that you dress up?
