The new year always inspires organization and a fresh start. I may have dropped the ball last month and missed out on the Silhouette Creator’s Challenge because I was the opposite of organized… (oops). But now I’m back, ready and rarin’ to go for this month’s challenge, which coincidentally is centered around all things organizational! π
Previous challenges include:Β Harry Potter t-shirt, Β British phone booth art, Β Coldplay lyric tote bag,Β crochet hook storage box,Β beach finds treasure bag, pumpkin spice tea towel, a hello fall mason jar vase, aΒ utensils holder, and some glittery art.
This month our theme is “Organization” so we each had to come up with something that we could make with our Silhouettes that would help keep things neat and orderly! I decided to make some adorable planner clips so I could keep my life in order while staying stylish. Follow along with my tutorial below and then stick around for links to all the other awesome projects!
Planner Clips Materials
Let’s get started, shall we?
To start, I found some cute heart clip designs over at Silhouette’s online Design store HEREΒ and opened the design three times in my design software. I sized them all a little bit differently and made sure they all fit on the page.
Next, I chose my cut settings. I used some thick-ish scrapbook paper, so I set my material to ‘cardstock’ – make sure you change your blade settings to match your material!
To mix it up, I used 3 different colors of scrapbook paper for my planner clips, I laid them all out side by side on my cut mat and made sure my designs would cut properly on each one.
Into the CAMEO it goes! Hit ‘Load Cut Mat’ on the touchscreen and then hit ‘Send to Silhouette’ back in your design software! Now watch it cut away to make your pretty planner clips.
After that the rest is so super simple – just remove the scrapbook paper from the cut mat, pop the clips out and there you have it! Super adorable and also super handy for staying organized!
I like to use these in my blog planner, though you could totally use them for a regular day planner, menu planner, or school binder.
I already have divider tabs to help me stay a little bit organized, but the planner clips are perfect for helping me find a specific page I need in a snap.
No more hunting around for my editorial calendar or my to-do page! π
I really love how colorful these are – it makes me smile to seem these planner clips sticking out of the top of my gold and mint zebra binder π
