Gift-giving and card-sending season is almost upon us, dear friends! With Christmas (and even Valentine’s Day!) just around the corner, it’s super easy to get overwhelmed with remembering everyone you need to send cards to! To keep everything in order I decided to put together a little gift and greeting card station to give myself peace of mind.
This little station is perfect for sending off quick cards and small gifts anytime of year, be it Christmas, birthdays, or even just a friendly hello to an old friend! Everybody loves getting snail mail and this organizer is definitely encouraging me to write to my friends and family more often.
I started with a desk organizer from Target that was a couple bucks and then went through all of my crafting supplies, random cards, envelopes and more and compiled everything that would be useful!
One thing that’s always handy to have around are spare envelopes andย little foldable boxes for sending small gifts. Look for a neutral color or design that will work for all seasons and holidays!
More supplies to keep handy are pens, pencils and markers. You can’t write a letter without a writing utensil! I like to keep a sharpie or two close by for writing on packages, pens and pencils for writing, and a gold leaf pen for fancy flourishes. Usually I keep a couple out in the organizer and then the rest in a pencil pouch to cut down on clutter.
Recently I’ve started collecting cute and funny greeting cards when I’m out and about. Whenever I’m at Target I take a quick swing by the card section just to check out what’s new. Now that I’ve stockpiled a few I’ve got loads of different ones for whenever an occasion arises!
I found this one recently that I thought was absolutely hilarious. Wizards are the best. (HarryPotterForLIFE).
Some other fun flair I like to put in my greeting card station are stickers and little scrapbook embellishments. The pretty paper and cute phrases are the perfect finishing touch to special cards or the outside of packages! I like to look in the clearance section at Michaels for cute stickers that are half the price! Heidi Swapp has some amazing designs.
One tip I have is to pre-address your envelopes either by hand or with a stamp to save on time! I have a handy dandy little address stamp that I got with a Groupon a while back and it’s so satisfying and fun to just stamp all my envelopes!
A few other handy things to have in your greeting card station: scissors, index cards or bits of paper for keeping track of who you need to send cards to or practicing calligraphy, ribbon, stamps, glitter, tape and/or a glue stick. You can customize your organizer to fit your needs. You can even swap out supplies to along with the seasons and holidays!
Since everything is so compact, it’s super easy to keep this little station on your desk, a shelf, or wherever you keep sort your mail. I guarantee you’ll be writing more letters and cards with this organizer by your side! I’m going to keep this one on my bookshelf along with all of my other craft supplies so I can easily grab what I need whenever the occasion arises. Keep gift wrap near by and you’ve got yourself a whole gift creation station ๐
Do you like getting snail mail? I know I do!
This is such a good idea! And that card made me laugh. Love it ๐
Hehe funny cards are my favorite! XD
This is a REALLY good idea. My card supplies are scattered all over like you wouldn’t believe, but having everything in one central location would make it so much easier for me to get my cards out on time (or actually, at all!).
Haha, that was definitely me, too! Hoping I’ll get more correspondence out now that I’m more organized ๐ We’ll see! haha
