You guys it’s fall! Fall is officially my favorite season – sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes, cozy fires and good books, cups of tea, cloudy days, and crunchy leaves. Amiright? But while I adore and love love love fall, I don’t usually decorate much for the season. Mainly because I don’t have the space to store it all and it’s too much $$ to buy a bunch of decor I only have out once a year. Maybe someday when I’m the next Martha Stewart, right? Regardless, I can’t resist decorating at least my mantel and front room so when guests come over they are at least greeted with a pretty autumnal picture!
Last year I decorated my fall mantel like this – eesh!Β The decor was okay but the red fireplace and green wall? Blech. SO glad that we got rid of those between last fall and this fall! With our new Stikwood plank wall and our pretty white fireplace, the scene is a MUUUUCHHH better setting for a gorgeous fall mantel.
I decided to use some of the same pieces that I had in my fall mantel scene last year, but I also added a couple of new ones, like some fun polka dot vases and foliage from Michaels, a little owl from a friend, and some gorgeous black candlesticks from Ikea. To make sure it stayed classy, I tended to stick with natural tones with a couple pops of organges/yellows as a nod to the season.
Faux flowers are the best because I don’t have to water them! If they were real they would be dead within a couple days. Hah.
I have this little hedgehog planter that I got from West Elm with a giftcard, I put a little feathered ball inside to give him some color and texture! When spring comes around I might try planting something in there, but for now the little autumn colored feathers work just fine π
Speaking of animal friends, one of my besties gave me this little owl buddy! His feet have wires on the inside so he clamps on nicely to the fireplace grate. She also gave me a floofy white one that will be making an appearance at Christmas time!
I left out some of my normal decor pieces too to fill out the rest of the mantel. I mean, a silver llama is totally applicable anytime of year. Who’s with me??
I also had a few things leftover from last year that I didn’t use on my mantel this year, so I found new homes for them. A glittery leaf garland now adorns my chalkboard table and all the cute little pumpkins are chilling in my coffee table tray.
This is one of my favorite spaces to hang out on a chilly fall morning. It’s so nice to just put my feet up with my cuppa and my Bible or another good book. With the pretty globe lights on and a candle lit, it’s one of the coziest places in the house! My cat, Mumford, thinks so too – this is his go-to napping spot π
Thanks for taking a little tour of my fall mantel and living room! I may not have a lot of decorations, but what I do have I absolutely love. If you want to decorate for fall but don’t have the cash to spend, consider bringing in natural elements from the outdoors like branches, pinecones, pumpkins or fall flowers!

What’s your favorite part about fall?
I love how you were able to use items from last year in the new updated space too. And let me just say I love polka dots. I would have never thought to incorporate that pattern into fall decor. Superb ?
Aw, thank you so much Mary! I’m really happy with how this year’s mantel turned out π And polka dots are SO fun to use for fall, especially if they are black and white or any sort of metallic color π Thanks so much for stopping by!
AH it’s so pretty! Especially against that beautiful wall π And I love your little owl haha
Thanks so much, Bre!! And haha I love him too π He’s definitely perfect to perch on our fire screen! I have so many owls around the house it’s ridiculous, but I love it π
So pretty, Erica! I love the polka dot mason jar with the flowers inside. It all looks wonderfully put together!
Aw, thanks so much! I think the polka dot mason jars are my new favorite too π
I just love it all!! The hedgehog is adorbs. And seriously, I can’t get over your beautiful wall. I’m so jelly!!! π
D’aww thanks so much! You know how I love me some woodland creatures π And I’m def in love with my wall too! I might just stare at it most of the day… π
Erica, wow! I took a peek at how your brick and walls used to look and what a transformation! The room looks twice as big and GORGEOUS! Your mantel is so fun, and it’s great how all the little touches (owl, vases, etc.) really make the look. I also really love the natural color pallet. Very pretty! Thanks for sharing.

Isn’t it SO much better now? Haha, I’m so glad to be rid of that red orangey brick and that icky green wall! So much classier now and more me with the neutral palette π
