Well, this definitely took me a lot longer to post than I originally intended – new motherhood does that to you, I guess! It was one of my top goals to get baby girl’s nursery done, and even though it’s taken me over 4 weeks to post it, I’m proud to say that I did in fact get it all done before I went into labor! #goals. To say that I’m in love with this room is putting it lightly. I’m LEGITIMATELY IN LOVE with this room. Not to mention that it’s the only completely finished room in our whole house… that we’ve been in for for a year… but that’s neither here nor there. I’m SO excited to show off this cactus and llama baby girl nursery to all of you. And even though baby girl won’t be sleeping in here for a while yet, it’s still a great place for us to hang out, nurse, and nap during the day.
If your remember, a while back I posted a nursery mood board, which you can find HERE. Compare my style board to how it turned out by checking out all the beautiful photo goodness below!
The crib, pouf, and floor lamp were generously donated by Wayfair! No other compensation or products were received for this post. For my full disclosure policy, click HERE.
Can anyone say swoon? I honestly would sleep in this room myself if the bed was big enough. It’s so rewarding to see a style board I made come to life and it’s even better than I pictured. It’s fun, feminine, sophisticated, and yet not too grown-up. This is a room that can grow with our daughter – no frilly babyish stuff to get rid of as she gets older, just cool pieces that can transition as she ages. I’m all about that! Now, let’s take a little tour about the room, shall we?
Gotta have a place to store all of those adorable baby clothes and blankets, right?? I took a plain dresser I ordered off of Amazon and dressed it up by replacing the knobs with cool brass and leather pulls. Her gallery wall is a fun combo of llama and cactus items, as well as some inspirational quote items, including some scripture, and girl-empowerment sayings.
To make diaper changes quicker, I installed a little hanging bin where I store diapers as well as some diaper creme and Aquaphor. Makes changes a snap! And what little girl doesn’t need a bowl of bows?? I just love dressing up her cute little noggin with flowers and bows!
Next is the rocking chair corner. Though at this point we kind of nurse or feed all over the house, I’m looking forward to when this chair can be used for stories and snuggles. Wayfair provided the awesome gold floor lamp and pink pouf – I kept the nursery color palette simple with neutrals, greens, pinks, and pops of gold.
Llamas are everywhere in this space! Surprisingly, llamas (and cacti) seem to be pretty hot right now, so it was super easy to find cute things to fill this nursery! The pillow is from Imani Collective, which is a super cool organization that empowers women in Kenya.
I keep burp cloths handy in a little basket next to the rocking chair. And of course, most of them have llama prints on them 😉
One of my favorite spots in this whole baby girl nursery is the reading corner. I’m basically the biggest book nerd and reader on the planet, so I’m hoping to instill a love of books into my daughter from a young age. Plus picture books are just so much fun!
I set up some floating shelves so that she can pick books to read when she’s old enough, as well as keep our favorites pretty displayed when we aren’t reading. I picked up a wooden dollhouse and filled that with books as well – it makes for a super adorable display and then when she grows out of board books, she can use it as an actual dollhouse to play in. And of course I couldn’t resist the mini eames chair! Too cute!
The other favorite part of our baby girl nursery is this amazing cactus wall. If you checked out on of my bumpdates, you saw a little update on how my awesome sister-in-law and mother-in-law put up this wallpaper singlehandedly. And they did a fantastic job! The other cool part is that it is totally removable – the panels are basically giant vinyl stickers that you can move or take off with ease!
Wayfair also provided the beautiful Babyletto Hudson crib. I love how modern and simple it looks, and the fact that it’s low that short little ol’ me can reach out and get baby without being on my tippy toes. Check out Wayfair’s full range of nursery furniture HERE.
I ordered a wood cutout of her name from Etsy and spray painted it gold to fit the theme. It’s held up easily with some command strips on the back!
Oh yeah, in case you hadn’t heard, her name is Bellamy Lara 🙂
Next to her crib I used a little end table to be the home for her baby monitor and white noise machine. Keeping baby essentials close doesn’t have to be un-stylish! She also has received a large amount of incredibly adorable stuffed llamas from family and friends, so I decided they all needed a home in the llama tote bin I also got from a friend. This girl had better love llamas 😉 If not, then I claim them all haha.
The last wall has her closet. There wasn’t much in the way of built-ins, so I improvised my own by putting in a couple of cube organizers with baskets. These baskets hold things like surplus diapers and wipes, clothes that she hasn’t grown into yet, and other items. The super organized part of me separated her clothes into dresses, PJs, and sleep sacks, which I then organized by size and length lol. At least everything is easy to find now! All the rest of her stuffed animals (okay, my stuffed animals that I’m passing on to her), nice picture books with paper pages, and keepsake stuff is on the top shelf.
This room just makes me so happy. I spent a lot of time in here hanging out before Bellamy was born, dreaming about when she would be here. I’m so glad she has this space to call her own and that it is filled with gifts and things from people who love her.
And of course I couldn’t have a baby girl nursery tour without baby girl! She already loves lounging in her crib:
My two loves <3
It was really a labor of love to get this space done for our sweet Bellamy. It feels so good to have it done – in fact, it’s the only finished room in our house! Everything else is a work in progress. Hah. I know she will enjoy this space for years to come and it makes my mama heart so happy that I could make it happen for her.
Thanks so much again to Wayfair for the contribution of a few of the furniture and decor items! It’s so awesome to have a beautiful space for our baby girl to grow up in 🙂 Be sure to stay tuned for a shop the look post for this space, our daughter’s birth story, and some other baby-centric posts!
Oh Erica, I absolutely LOVE it! SO many sweet little details – swooning over the soft gold accents and that cactus wall is so fun! Adorable!
Thank you so much, Kristi! It was really a labor of love and I’m so excited for Bellamy to enjoy it for years to come! 🙂
OMG, what an adorable room! I want it as an adult room!
Thank you! And I know right?? I wish it were my room!

Thank you! The rug is from Hayneedle! I’ll be posting a full source list post for this space in the next week or two, so keep an eye out! 🙂
Where did you get the wallpaper/stickers from ? I love it
I got the removable vinyl wallpaper from a place called Rocky Mountain Decals! It really is the best – went up super easy and will also come off super easy if we decide we don’t want it anymore!
Someone please tell me where this rug is from or provide me with the link!
I LOVE this nursery, and it has given me some inspiration as my husband and I are doing a llama theme as well! I was wondering what kind of glider you have or where it came from. I’m looking for something similar in color (looks almost like a light blue gray?) and generally just having difficulty finding a small glider in a color that we like. Thanks!
That’s so great! Congratulations on your bundle of joy 🙂 As far as the glider goes – I got it from Wayfair I believe. There is a link to the exact one I got in my Nursery source list post that you can find here: https://www.dwellbeautiful.com/boho-baby-girl-nursery-source-list/ There are links to all of the products that I used in her room! Best of luck and I hope that helps 🙂
Oops – here is the right link for where to find the glider: https://www.dwellbeautiful.com/boho-baby-girl-nursery-source-list/
Love it!! And love seeing the use of Llamas… 😉 (such an awesome and cute creature)
Where did you get the pink llama basket from?
I’m not sure where it came from, as it was a gift. I’m sorry! But I think it possibly came from Target!
Adorable nursery! Where are all those llama stuffed animals from??
Thank you! The come from various places like Pier 1, Amazon, and local toy stores! The brand on a few of them is Douglas, which you should be able to find with a search! 🙂
