Happy Friday, ya’ll! We’ve made it through another work week! Yay! It’s supposed to be in the 80s/90s here in Seattle which is SO unheard of! I’m going to have to get myself to the lake and soak up that vitamin D before it leaves us again! I’ll be photographing a wedding on Saturday with a dear friend of mine and the working at the library on Sunday. What are you up to this weekend?
My free printable quote for Freebie Friday is a quote that has a lot of significance to me. Growing up and coming from a rough family life, I felt a lot of pressure to be what the world wanted me to be, what my family thought I should be, what others told me I should be. I tried doing those things for a long time, but in the end I was just left feeling burnt out and upset and not good enough. Through my college years and after accepting Jesus as my savior when I turned 20, I realized that being me, really being me, was absolutely okay. I didn’t feel the pressure to put a mask on anymore or try to fit in. And that, friends, was so extremely liberating. I started embracing myself and all of my quirks and started sharing that with others instead of trying to hide who I was. There will always be naysayers, but friends, if you are struggling with self-worth, please, please know that it’s okay to be you. Heck, it’s BEST to be you. As Oscar Wilde says, “Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.”
